The Spring 2025 Muncie YART will be from 5-8p on Thursday, June 5th during the Brink of Summer ArtsWalk! This is a HUGE event with hundreds of Artists!

YART has a zero-dollar budget and is proof that community members working together can create an extremely successful and fun experience! Volunteers are sought for the YART Artist Set-Up from 3-5p on June 5th, show up to HELP, thank you! ♥️

6 Guitars is a pitch perfect blend of music, comedy, and theater. Just 1 performer portrays 6 guitar-playing characters each representing their own style of music:

• Wes Tankerfield, a snobbish jazz master
• Michael Marsh, a 19-year-old rock prodigy
• Peter Winter-Jones, a sensitive folk musician
• Rupert Colt, a charming country songwriter
• Emmanuel Ortega, an eccentric classical wizard
• Tyrone Gibbons, a weary blues picking octogenarian

As each character shares the anecdotes and songs that define their relationship to music, the audience is treated to breathtaking musicianship, beautiful storytelling, and top-notch comedy. Audience interaction and improvised songs tailors each performance to any given crowd.

Bring your little ones to Storytime Saturday! Join one of our experience guides for a cozy storytime perfect for children 5 and under and their families. Each month, we’ll feature a special seasonal story that celebrates the time of year.

Winston Churchill is back! His purpose: To warn humanity not of a Nazi threat, not of Soviet Iron Curtain Communism, but rather - that a Digital Iron Curtain has fallen across all of humanity and that action this day is necessary to Defend Liberty and Freedom.

Winston Churchill, along with Michael Duncan’s brilliant narration, Eric Anderson’s stirring musical renderings and Kevin Pehler’s stunning audio-visual magic leads us through history, painting the portrait of humanity’s struggle between totalitarian conquest and control and individual liberty and freedom. This stirring, inspirational “Theatrical Keynote” brings Winston Churchill’s keen, incisive message of hope to the 21st Century. The audience will have the opportunity to interact directly with Prime Minister Churchill during Ask Winston, a fun, lively Q&A.

During the Brink of Summer event, come watch artists and creatives make giant prints using a steamroller. Weather allowing this event will be held in the parking lot on the corner of Walnut and Adams. There will be interactive parts for the general public as well.

Late Nite Catechism is an uproariously funny play that takes the audience back to their youth. The irrepressible Sister teaches class to a roomful of "students." Throughout the course of the class the benevolent instructor rewards the "students" for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and other nifty prizes. Naughty students may well find themselves on stage sitting in a corner reflecting their actions. However, even the most reluctant "students" will be clamoring to get into this Sister's class. The New York Times calls Late Nite Catechism “interactive theater at its best and full of laughs!”

YART is a Yard Sale for Art! But don’t think it’s a yard sale like you’ve ever been to before - no rummage! ALL NEW ART! We keep the vibe going by setting up outdoors with super low prices! YART began many decades ago in Muncie, Indiana with a grass roots effort by students from Ball State University. Many U.S. cities have reached out to learn how to organize, and now host, their own YARTs. YART is a true Muncie original gone nation-wide! The Muncie YART is currently held Downtown, at Canan Commons, twice a year, Spring and Fall - the First Thursdays of June and October - and coincides with ArtsWalk. The Fall 2026 Muncie YART is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, October 1st!

This community art sale, with a goal of making art affordable and accessible to everyone, brings together Artists and Art patrons in a casual and unique setting. You can find YART and LIVE music performances at Canan Commons, Muncie's great urban greenspace park and amphitheater by the roundabout on South Walnut Street in Downtown Muncie, Indiana.
 

All forms of Art are welcome at YART! Art of all kinds, by all kinds of Artists! YART encourages interaction between Artists and the community, hoping to make Art more accessible, especially to those who think they cannot afford to buy Art for themselves and their homes.
