Participants will get hands-on instruction from professional educator Brittany Ciempola to design, cut, and apply their own vinyl creations using Cricut Design Space. During the three-hour workshop participants will customize a mini zip bag and a tumbler drinking cup.

One of the biggest challenges facing watercolor artists of all levels, is how to fix mistakes. In this class you’ll learn techniques that will allow you to fix and improve your artwork. You may bring in one of your own paintings if you have one or Ann will show you how to get started on a fresh new masterpiece. open to all skill levels.

Practice painting and appliqué techniques to create your own custom wooden keepsake box. This workshop will teach you how to create an original Keepsake Box while having fun doing it. Professional crafter Jennifer Amos will guide participants through a fun interactive afternoon painting, decorating, sealing, and decorating their own custom keepsake boxes. These small wooden boxes would make a great gift for Easter or Mother’s Day, could store cherished items from Baby’s First Year, a far-away loved one, or serve as a family heirloom in the making.

Step into the fascinating realm of artists as we offer a glimpse behind the curtain! Join local artist Ann Johnson, aka F.B. Fogg, as she shares insights into her creative process and discusses the privilege and challenges of serving as this year's juror for the 34th Annual Minnetrista Juried Art Show. Discover the intricate considerations that determine a winning piece and unravel the mysteries of the juror's perspective. Wondering if the juror is truly "blind"? No question is too basic or too complex—come prepared to ask anything and everything!

Learn to create your own magic show using the principles of design thinking. Ball State University Emerging Media Professor Tong Li will guide students and families through an immersive learning experience to create and perform their own magic tricks. Participants will create their first magic trick to share with family and friends! Through this process, you will understand design thinking and its connection with magic!

This workshop is recommended for adults/youth ages 13+ and families. Children ages 8–12 may register with an adult who will be present for the duration of the workshop. 

Registration will close up to 72 hours prior to the start of the event to provide time for instructors to prepare.

Join student teachers from the Ball State Art Education program for an afternoon of games, activities, and tours in the DOMA galleries - plus (weather permitting) creating sunprints on the Quad as a pre-solar eclipse activity! Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest brings into focus one of the most vital ecosystems on the planet. This timely exhibition explores the relationship between people and nature while taking audiences on a learning journey. Through exquisite photography and videography, first-person stories, authentic objects, and interactive experiences, audiences discover the heart of this forest through the natural and cultural history of a place and its people. This exhibition is bilingual, with displays in both English and Spanish.

Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest / Historias del bosque boreal was organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. It is made possible by the National Audubon Society with additional support from The Anders Foundation, Charlie and Nancy Hogan, and Anne C. Madison.
