Saturday July 15th we will have a pop-up barbecue day with reserved pick-up orders! We will be slow smoking Gunthorp Farms slow smoked pork shoulder. This is craft barbecue with live fire cooking on the Second Story smoker using pasture raised pork! Reserve your meals for pick-up or for dinner in the Second Story on Saturday night!
Our traditional barbecue has house made potato salad, a sweet and sour slaw, and house made pickles, house made buns.

Chad Nordhoff will play the lounge, Chad is an excellent guitar player and vocalist based in Muncie. He refined his blues chops playing on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, and in the Mississippi Delta. Come hear what Chad has to say with his music! $5.00 ticket/cover will go to Chad

Peter Davis has been playing guitar and writing songs for over 30 years! An excellent guitarist, Pete's experience goes back to his Ball State days as part of a band that played regularly at Headliners Bar and Grill on campus. His experience has continued up into current times and he has lately been playing at the Thursday night open jams at The Second Story Lounge! His love of music is based in the roots of rock and roll, blues, and even old country. Come and hear Peter Davis play his music!

Gene Deer plays the Second Story!

Gene Deer is back at The Second Story with one of the best performances you will hear! The Second Story is a perfect venue for a Gene Deer show! 
Be sure to come early for dinner and cocktails and the best in non-alcoholic drinks, craft beer and wine. We'll have pulled pork, our craft barbecue with live fire cooking, and delicious sides, house made buns and sauces!

The Unknown Jazz Quintet play the Lounge and Jay Moorman guest bartends!

Joining us this week is Jay Moorman as a guest bartender!
Jay, originally from Louisville Ky, has a love of bourbon and for making craft cocktails for his wife Karen. Jay, was a long time employee of Ontario Systems and now works for Boyce Systems in Daleville. His real love of making interesting drinks grew, like many, during the quarantine. He will share some of his favs with us Aug 4th as part of our craft cocktail menu!
A $5.00 cover/ticket charge goes to the band.

The Unknown Jazz Quintet mixes jazz and humor and they met while performing in various Muncie Civic Theater musicals over the years. The core group is Evan Shroyer on drums, his brother
Zayne Shroyer on trumpet, Stacey Briggs on saxes, Paul Rhine on electric or double bass and at times Sean Woodgett or Jim Rhinehart on keyboard. 
Years ago, bassist Paul Rhine gigged in Muncie with drummer Charlie Owen, pianist Dr. Phil Cooley and vocalist Paula Owen. Rhine was a fixture of the Indianapolis jazz scene, performing with local jazz luminaries such as saxophonists David Young, Jimmy Coe and Alonzo “Pookie” Johnson; pianist Claude Sifferlen;
vibraphonist Billy Wooten; drummers Benny Barth and Jack Gilfoy, and Wes Montgomery’s brother pianist/vibraphonist Buddy Montgomery among others.

Foxxy is a 4-7 piece band based out of Indiana. They are your do it all band with powerhouse vocals and a rocking rhythm section. Whether you want rock, pop, funk, or more. Foxxy can do it all. When it comes to soul they’ve got it! Be sure to check out this high energy group. Foxxy herself stays in Muncie, come support local talent! They’ll be playing covers and originals throughout the evening. This is one you don’t wanna miss. Foxxy herself is apart of multiple bands. One you may know of is The Indigos who are originally based out of Muncie. She’s been a member since 2015 and still sings with them to this day. And as well as many other groups she loves to collaborate with. She is one of the most sought out female vocalists in Indiana. She can sing anything from 4 non blondes, Janis, to led zeppelin and more! We hope to see you this weekend! Come and hang out with us and Foxxy! $10 ticket and only 50 seats!

Perfect Strangers plays a hard rock acoustic set and Opie Hendrix opens with original music! We're happy to present two bands you may not have heard before and two different genres of talented musicians. Perfect Strangers led by Jay Kennedy will play an acoustic hard rock set and Opie Hendrix who normally plays venues and Honky Tonks all over Texas will play original music from the road. We'll have all you can eat barbecue specials and some great cocktails on sale too! Dave graduated from Delta High School locally with both of these guys, Opie Hendrix used to go by Steve Buchanan. $5.00 cover/tickts goes to the band.

Stampede String Band is on their Mid-Western tour and is joined by special guest Oxford Baking Company (OBC)!
Over the last decade, The Stampede String Band has earned a reputation for their hard-hitting acoustic performances, thoughtful lyrics, and powerhouse vocal harmonies. The Last Shall Be First is not just another decent Stampede album: it’s a hair-raising experience. Its ten tracks include eight new originals, a cover of former band member Scot Heminger’s track “Long Time” that originally appeared on an album by his band Dos Ringos, and a cover of Blind Willie Johnson’s soul-splitting spiritual, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine.”

The Stampede String Band will be touring in 2023 with the original lineup, celebrating both this new release and the 10 year anniversary of their first studio album, Moonsville.

For more than two decades Gene Deer has been injecting audiences with his blend of Blues/Rock nationally and internationally. Performing more than 250 shows annually, this modern day blues man possesses vocals that were born to sing nothing but his style of blues. Gene's mojo infects audiences and leaves them feeling the rhythm of blues long after the music stops. His music persona is a blend of Robert Cray, Stevie Ray, Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters, and it isn't hard to testify to that while watching and hearing him perform. It's sometimes hard to tell where the separation is between man and guitar.

Doors open at 5:00 pm, music starts at about 7:00 pm
