The next BIG event for the Muncie Makers Market is the Holiday Gift Market, on December 5th, during December's First Thursday, which is Light Up DWNTWN, from 5-8p, at 301 South Walnut Street - this is right next to HeidiJHale Jewelry and her big annual sale! We are on the First Floor, directly inside the entrance of the Mitchell Building, just South of the intersection of Walnut and Adams, very easy to find, with lots of free parking all around! 🎁 There will be fun events throughout Downtown Muncie which are sponsored by the Muncie Downtown Development Partnership, many shops and restaurants will be open late with activities and sales, and everyone is excited to be at the heart of it all! Every December’s First Thursday is branded as Light Up DWNTWN and we will show up BRIGHT and MERRY!

Celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of First Thursday with us this December! First Thursday gallery walk events began in 2001 with the opening of the Mitchell Place Gallery in downtown Muncie. The downtown area is one of Muncie's four designated cultural zones and widely recognized as a hub for local artists to sell their wares and is home to a growing number of art galleries, non-profit experimental art spaces, and businesses supportive of our Arts + Culture community! As always, these gallery walks are free, family friendly, and typically include a number of exhibition openings, film screenings, performances, and a wide variety of community events.

Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company kicks off our annual Holiday Art Sale with 10% off locally handmade items perfect for gift giving. Our Holiday Art Sale will be open 5-8pm, First Thursday, December 5 and continue through December 14

Gordy Fine Art and Framing is the area’s leading source for holiday gifts that are handmade locally. These include prints, pottery, and jewelry. Prices mostly fall between $30 to $200. From whimsical “Funcie” shirts to handcrafted mugs and plates. Paintings and prints capture Indiana’s landscapes in both traditional and contemporary styles.

The sale will run through December 14 and new works will be continually added to replace things that are purchased and removed.

A stunning video projection and dance performance on the façade of our own treasured Carnegie Library in the heart of downtown Muncie. Jackson Street will be closed to traffic for this brief event starting exactly at 6:30. Come experience an awe-inspiring multimedia and dance performance motivated by the muses! (…who, by the way, also exist in sculpted form on the Carnegie facade!)

It’s time again for the Amazing Elf Adventure, one of Muncie Children’s Museum’s biggest events of the year! The Amazing Elf Adventure (AEA) is a holiday fun house that invites your family to participate in a scavenger hunt filled with activities and tasks to see if you have what it takes to become one of Santa’s newest elves.

Admission to Amazing Elf Adventure is $6 for non-members and $4 for MCM members. For non-member families visiting both Amazing Elf Adventure and the museum exhibit floor, admission is $12. Tickets can be purchased at MCM’s front desk.

Santa is coming to MCM!!

Join us on Sunday, December 8th from 1-4:30pm, for Sundaes with Santa, hosted by the Muncie Children's Museum Guild! Admission includes an ice cream sundae & drink, a photo with Santa, face painting, reindeer food, Christmas activities and craft, a ticket to the Amazing Elf Adventure (to be used during the event) and much more. Early registration is recommended. The museum will not be open for general admission on December 8th.

Detective Phil Barlow and his intrepid canine companion Bogie are back with another Yuletide adventure! When Mrs. Klaus disappears under suspicious circumstances, Phil and Bogie team up with Reindeer Force, Squadron B to scour the city and find her before the evil Krampus ruins Christmas for everyone. Join us for some high-flying mystery-solving fun with Zipper, Flipper, Schnitzel and the rest of Squadron B as they learn that even the oldest legends can have surprising twists, and it’s the unexpected deliveries that truly make the holidays magical.

IPR Radio Dramas feature community and campus actors, musicians and singers who through their live performance, transport listeners back to a different time, evoking memories of shared experiences, and reminding people of a bygone era when imagination played a more significant role in entertainment. Live music and sound effects help recreate an authentic radio drama reminiscent of the Golden Age of Radio.

Audience members play a crucial role in the radio drama experience by actively engaging with the narrative and reacting to the emotions presented through audio.

Attendees should be seated by 7:30 p.m. and will be treated to a pre-show program including a sound effects demonstration.

Tune in at 8pm for the live broadcast on Indiana Public Radio.
