- Artists: There is no vending fee for YART and YART does not take a cut of your sales. You'll need your own display and we suggest some chairs. YART is outdoors, so plan for heat, wind, and hopefully not rain. ;) Make contact to reserve your space NOW! :)

Canan Commons stage

Celebrate the arts in Downtown Muncie from 5pm to 9pm on first Thursday in October! Muncie Symphony Orchestra is taking stage at Canan Commons for a free outdoor concert at 5:30pm, Douglas Droste, conductor.

Bring the whole family, share a picnic, dance on the lawn, gaze at the clouds (no rain please!); sip a refreshing, favorite beverage.  It’s all about celebrating the arts and enjoying last warm days in the fall, before moving indoors for the winter.

The MSO will also have an activity booth with instrument petting zoo as one of the Arts Walk vendors. Stop by with your children!

Muncie Gras 2016

MUNCIE'S BIGGEST PARTY

Muncie Gras 2016 will be held March 19th, 2016 - 7pm-2am in the Streets of DWNTWN Muncie. It is DWNTWN’s biggest party of the year! It’s our version of Bourbon on Walnut Street!

Laissez le bon roulement de periodes! (Let the good times roll!)

Join the Muncie Symphony League for our first ever musical race - the Andante 5k Walk & Run! Presented as an outdoor ambulatory concert around the beautiful Ball State University campus, the course will feature 4 different live music setups along the way. Additionally, the MSO's Maestro Douglas Droste will lead off the race from the start line in his concert tails!

The 5k will be headlined by Dr Boldylocks & The Twitter Allstars at the Start/Finish line in front of Ball Gym, two more ensembles will play at the two turnaround loops of the course, and at the center of it all, the Shafer Tower Carillon will chime away, played by Dr. Ron Rarick.

The course has been designed to be exceptionally safe and very family-friendly. The first 2.5 miles take place over roads that will be fully closed and police-controlled. No traffice to worry about! The remainder of the course finishes up entirely on sidewalks, again - no traffic!

In addition to the unique experience of getting to listen to live music while you run/walk, each registrant will receive a T-shirt, all age group and overall winners will receive MSO ticket packages, and even more MSO concert tickets will be given away as door prizes after the race!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

After the race, take some time to relax, maybe by visiting the Art Museum, or a restaraunt in The Village, but be sure to come back for the Muncie Symphony Orchestra's FREE outdoor concert: "Festival on the Green"! An Arts Fair will open at 5:30, followed by the concert at 7pm

Join the Muncie Makers Market for a fun Pop-Up Shop inside of the brand new Muncie Map Co. during the September First Thursday in Downtown Muncie! Get a sneak peek inside this fantastic new shop/event venue, enjoy some tasty refreshments, and shop local with the Makers of the Muncie Makers Market!

YART is a Yard Sale for Art! This community art sale, with a goal of making art affordable and accessible to everyone, brings together Artists and Art patrons in a casual and unique setting. The Fall 2018 Muncie YART will be held in conjunction with the Fall 2018 ArtsWalk on Thursday, October 4th, from 5-9pm. YART will ring the park at Canan Commons, Muncie's great urban greenspace park and amphitheater at the roundabout on South Walnut Street in Downtown Muncie, Indiana. All forms of Art are welcome at YART! Art of all kinds, by all kinds of Artists! YART encourages interaction between Artists and the community, hoping to make Art more accessible, especially to those who think they cannot afford to buy Art for themselves and their homes. To this goal, all YART Art will be priced below $40! YART works to enable local creative entrepreneurs and to improve the Muncie economy. Shop local, support independents, enjoy your town! Last YART featured over 150 Artists! The Fall 2018 Muncie YART will feature a wide variety of handmade jewelry, photography, clothing, oil/acrylic/watercolor paintings, fused glass, ceramics, knits, pottery, candles, toys, drawings, sculpture, lampwork glass, stuffed animals, digital art, mosaics, LIVE ART and LIVE MUSIC, the Pumpkin Trail & Glow, and so much more!
